I have borne witness to more death, despair, compassion, human beauty, and heroics than any one person deserves to see in one lifetime. Perhaps that is why I live in an illusory world of my own design. In my world, magic is as real as it is in the pages of a fantasy adventure novel. I see magic everywhere in the mundane, the everyday, the interpersonal. With my first conscious breath each morning, I breathe in the miraculous, mysterious gift that is waking up alive one more day! When I close my eyes at night, it is with gratitude to the Source of all magic.
My wife and our four astounding children continually bolster my belief in the magic of the mundane. If I ever shine, it is as the Moon shines with no light of its own, only glowing in the reflected light of my many Suns.
